Activating God’s Favour
By Gertrude Flynn-White
The desire of every believer in Christ Jesus is to be blessed and highly favoured by God. This means that the believer is chosen by God as His royal priesthood, is loved and is cared for. The Psalmist acknowledged this when he said, ” For you, O LORD, will bless the righteous, with favour. You will surround Him as a shield.” (Psalm 5:12) Can you imagine what things would be like if there was no hope of God’s favour upon your life? Would you have the courage to cast out fear and lay aside the weight of anxiety, hopelessness and despair?
Many believers think that God’s favour leave them when they experience challenges but His favour never leaves us. God’s favour is the power by which we are saved. It is the power that positively changes our circumstances. The Bible reminds us that by grace we have been saved through faith, and not that of ourselves. It is a gift from God. (Eph. 2:8) God favoured us so much that He sent His only son, Jesus Christ, to die for our sins. Our responsibility is to ensure that we receive God’s grace and favour by maintaining a close relationship with Him. This can only take place by first, accepting Him as our LORD and Saviour and taking heed to His word. We must activate our faith by believing and receiving His word. Without faith, it is imposible to please Him. Faith, in itself, is the substance of things hoped for, and the evidence of things not seen, It is our faith that allows us to trust Him.
God’s desire is to bless you, Begin to expect and receive His grace and favour. His mercies are new every morning. So whenever you are facing challenges be prepared to confront those overwhelming situations, believing that you are blessed and highly favoured.
