Angels are God’s Messengers

5 Reasons why God sent Angels to Earth.

The Bible assures us that in Heaven, angels are always in the presence of our Heavenly Father. (Matt. 18:10). So angels are real and they are God’s messengers.

1. God uses an angel to deliver specific messages

He sent an angel to Hagar when she was lost in the wilderness to give her hope that He had not forgotten her. (Gen. 16-18)
When Gideon became discouraged, He sent an angel who greeted him with the words, “The LORD is with you, Mighty Warrior.” (Judges 6)
God sent Angel Gabriel to tell Mary she would give birth to a son who would be the son of God. An angel also told the shepherds about the birth of Jesus. The angel Gabriel visited Zechariah to share the good news that Elizabeth would have a son.

2. Angels protection protection.

The scriptures assure us that He would give His angels charge over us in all our ways. (Psalm 91)  God sent an angel to shut the mouth of the lion when Daniel was in the lion’s den. (Dan. 6:22). He also sent an angel to deliver Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego when they violated the king’s command. (Dan. 3:28)

God told the Israelites that He would send an angel ahead of them to guard them as they journeyed through the wilderness. (Exod. 14:19) The angels urged Lot to take his wife and two daughters and leave or they would be destroyed in the punishment of the city. (Gen. 19:15) We are reminded that the angel of the LORD encamps around those who fear Him. (Psalm 34:7)

3. Angels serve the believers of God.

When we are hurt, distraught or hopeless, God sends His angels to Minister to us. When Elijah was afraid and was running for His life, an angel brought food and water to sustain him on his journey. (1 Kings 19)

Angels ministered to Jesus as He experienced being tempted by the devil when He spent 40 days in the wilderness. (Matt. 11:41) As Jesus prayed and waited in the Garden of Gethsemane, an angel appeared and strengthened Him. (Luke 22:43)

4. God gives His angels the charge to execute His judgment.

When Hezekiah prayed to God for help against his enemies, the angel of the LORD put a hundred and eighty-five men to death. (2 Kings 19)

5. Angel’s praise and worship God.

Angels sing in a loud voice, “Worthy is the lamb, who was slain, to receive power, wealth, wisdom, strength, honor, glory and praise. (Rev. 5:11-12)

Angels operate by God’s instruction and by hearkening unto the voice of His word (Psalm 103:20) They are always around us, keeping watch over us, protecting us and catering to our needs but they can remain dormant and may never minister to us as God intended. We can activate this angelic operation by speaking God’s word and living according to His will. When we speak contrary to God’s word, we hinder the release of angels to work on our behalf. God’s word will not return to Him void so let us be guided by His word.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank you for Your word. I pray that you will quicken us to hear Your voice according to Your word in John 10:27, “My sheep listen to my voice, I know them. and they follow me.” LORD, we are Your sheep so I pray for a special anointing to fall afresh upon us so that we will  hear Your voice clearly and distinctly. Your voice makes a difference in our lives. It instructs us, it heals our broken hearts, it  relieves our troubled minds and it gives us direction.  Dispatch Your angels to minister to our needs according to David’s  words in Psalm 91:11, “For He will command His angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways” Some of us may be going through our various  valley situations but we acknowledge that You are still in control and you remain faithful to Your promises.  Father, You have declared in Your word that no one should touch Your anointed and do them any harm so I pray that You will build an edge of protection around us as I tell You thanks in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen
