Friday Fiesta-Being Thankful

A feeling of gratitude and appreciation is an important behaviour everyone should embrace and practice as the benefits are usually fulfilling. Gratitude boosts optimism and aids in fostering a more positive outlook on life. Research has shown that people who are grateful take better care of themselves and are more appreciative of other people’s efforts and achievements. They are more socially oriented, are better friends, and exhibit a more positive disposition. David encourages us to give Thanks to the LORD for His goodness, for His love endures forever. The Scripture in Psalm 147:1 encourages us to praise the LORD for it is good to sing praises unto our God, for it is pleasant, and praise is comely. Our Spiritual life is usually strengthened by our praise and worship as well as our personal affirmation or mantra. A simple, “Thank You Jesus” or “Hallelujah” is enough to show our gratitude to God. Before we ask God for anything we should first thank Him for benefits already received and for expected blessing or favour.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, I come before You with a heart of thanksgiving in the name of Jesus Christ. LORD, I thank You for all Your benefits in my life. Thank You for the people You have brought into my life when I was at my breaking point. Thank You for Your presence for in Your presence, there is fullness of joy. Thank You for the plans You have for my life, plans for me to prosper in all areas of my life as my soul prospers, and plans for me to be in good health so that Your purpose for my life can be fulfilled. Thank You for Your peace that passes all understanding, the peace that keeps me calm and secure as I move through the storms of life. I thank You for the negative things that have made me a stronger and better person. Father, I thank You for Your mercies that are new every morning and for Your love which casts out all fear. Thank You for Your hedge of protection around me that no weapon formed against me shall prosper. I pray that Your presence will continue to abide with me in Jesus name. Amen
