Tuesday Trend – Faith can Move Mountain

Faith can Move Mountain

He replied, ” Because you have so little faith. truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, “Move from here to there.” and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you” Matthew 17:20 (NIV)

Can your faith really move mountain?

Has your faith ever been tested?

If you are a believer in Christ Jesus, undoubtedly it has been. Of course when you became a believer you exercised faith and  this is known as saving faith, but in addition to saving faith there is keeping faith. Did you ever have a conflict with faith giving up?
Occasionally we experience unexpected traumatic situations and all we have to rely on, this faith in God to overcome the trial.

The scripture in Hebrews 11:6 (KJV) reminds us that without faith, it is impossible to please God. So what is faith. The Bible tells us that “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” God gave all of us a measure of faith. He knows what each and every one of us can endure and His word tell us he will not allow us to be tried above what we are able to bear.

We are encouraged in Deuteronomy 31:6 to be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you. He will never leave you nor forsake you.

Jesus and His three disciples (Peter, James and John) had just returned from the “Mount of Transfiguration” when they encountered a man with a demon possessed child. The man reported to Jesus that he had brought this child to His disciples but they were unable to cast out the demon. Remember Jesus had already given His disciples the authority to cast out evil spirits (Matt. 10:1) Jesus immediately realized that their lack of faith prevented them from accomplishing the task of casting out the demon in the child. So after reprimanding them, he released the boy of this demonic attack. His disciples enquired why the demon disobeyed their command and Jesus told them that their faith was small and weak. Is our faith small and weak? Are we exercising our faith effectively? Are we overcome with doubt why sometimes our prayers are not answered?

Our faith will not literally move mountains. Jesus implied that even a little faith (the size of a mustard seed) can allow us to triumph over trials, obstacles and every form of adversity in our lives. Let us put our trust in God and allow Him to fight our battles knowing that we will be more than conquerors through Him that loves us so much. God bless.
